In this module, you will learn about the six primary pieces of legislation relating to moving and handling people. It outlines the responsibilities these laws propose for both employers and employees, ensuring everybody is compliant in their workplace setting.
3. Risk Assessments and Personalised Care Plans
In this module, you will explore two standard types of risk assessments and their significance as well as the purpose of personalised care plans. It is important that you understand your responsibility to read and consistently adhere to any risk assessments and personalised care plans for the individuals you care for.
4. Equipment for Moving and Handling People
In this module, you will gain an understanding of the various equipment types available for safely moving and transferring individuals. Emphasis will be placed on using this equipment effectively, not only to ensure safety but also to maintain the individual’s independence whenever possible.

This module will examine the safety aspects of efficiently handling and moving individuals. It will outline the factors to consider before undertaking any moving task, the primary objectives of a moving and handling care plan and the role of a thorough assessment. The module also takes into account the significance of clear communication throughout the process and offers an overview of the correct techniques when moving or transferring an individual.
6. Case Studies in Moving and Handling People
In this module, with the use of real-life case studies, you will learn about the necessity to collaborate with your employer, carry out pre-use equipment checks, ensure correct usage of equipment and adhere to reporting procedures as well as understand the importance of applying what you have learned in this training course.
7. Spinal Anatomy and Safe Lifting Principles
In this module, you will learn about spinal anatomy and the importance of safe handling practices to prevent injury. This module will also cover the implications of using poor lifting techniques, leading to potential injury.
8. Back Injury Causes and Prevention
This module will outline proactive strategies to avoid back injuries, the role of maintaining proper posture, preventative actions to take to avoid back-related injuries and what you can do to reduce acute back pain.
9. Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment (LOLER) Regulations
In this module, you will be able to identify the equipment you must use to comply with LOLER Regulations, as well as the specific servicing requirements and your responsibilities under LOLER Regulations.

You can access a copy, reprint or download this certificate on our LMS (Learning Management System). This is your proof that you have been trained in health and safety best practices and achieved compliance. The certificates include a verification number so anybody can authenticate the certificate’s legitimacy.
Our certifications include a renewal date but there is no legal requirement to renew your training and certificate within a specific timeframe. However, we do recommend that you arrange refresher training after 2 years as health and safety guidance does change. You should update your health and safety knowledge and skills regularly.
